CityScape Magazine

I ended the Spring 2021 semester producing a magazine utilizing a wide range of typography techniques. My magazine was centered around the diverse ways by which cities are converting to more eco-friendly practices. Growing up in the Chicago land area, I have witnessed first hand how damaging traditional urban practices can be to the environment. This is ultimately how I became interested in studying how other places were handling the climate crisis, and I hoped by this project to offer some simple adjustments we can make in Chicago to lessen our climate footprint.

Photo Book

This piece is composed of photos taken around River Grove, Illinois. The story is a fictional documentary illustrating the underside of “quiet” suburban life. Utilizing intentional elements of photography and layout/design were essentially in bringing this work together. The story was meant to move the reader through the course of a day, so from start to finish the pages get darker physically as the story does metaphorically.

Documentary Book

For this project I was tasked with creating a book based on a Documentary. I chose to do mine on the Netflix Documentary The Great Hack which revolved around the Facebook data sharing scandal and how that influenced the 2016 election. For my book I focused in on Brittani Kaisers political journey and how that led her to where she is today. The goal was to implement type and image integration, icon design, and typographic systems aimed at informing the audience on a particular topic.

Switch Lite Breakdown

One of my most research-heavy projects to date, this breakdown of a Nintendo Switch Lite is meant to map out and source the materials involved in the device’s entirety. My goal was to clearly present information in a way that was both detailed and generally visually appealing. Contrast was perhaps the most important design element here as each individual piece was highlighted in designated neon colors

Earth Day Magazine

My goal in this project was ultimately to play with unique design elements, color compatibility, and text layout. The shades of green kept with the forestry theme, and the product overall is characterized by minimalist design features for a professional, organic look.
